Mercy Trucks West Africa Project

Roy left Hexham on the 9th of January 2008. He then left Harpenden after packing the truck with equipment in the late afternoon of Thursday 10th. On this and further pages we will be publishing his accounts of his journey to Guinea-Bissau.

To Wednesday 16th

Roy hasn't been able to write an update on his journey today because, we're very glad to say, he's been too busy driving! Wednesday was a good day of driving, and the only mishap was the first burst tyre of the trip. This took a little time to replace, and Roy sensibly took time to buy some additional spare tyres. On the same journey in 2006, the wagon went through no less than seven tyres!
However, it didn't slow Roy down much, and by the end of the day he had reached Millau and was only a couple of hundred miles from the Spanish border.
