MERCY TRUCKS INTERNATIONAL was founded in 1997, as a volunteer humanitarian organization that works to link resources to needs by using various forms of logistics including trucks, shipping containers and mobile medical units to undertake relief initiatives with speed and efficiency as well as putting together longer term community development projects.

Mercy Trucks operates under the umbrella of Marine Reach and Youth With A Mission (YWAM), the latter having bases in over 1,100 different locations around the world. Mercy Trucks is able to make use of these bases in the countries where they work. Marine Reach is the ship ministry of Youth With A Mission and operates ships, trucks, helicopters and other resources providing volunteers with a platform to serve in areas of need around the world. Mercy Trucks is the main part of their Truck Ministry.

Everyone, including the trustees, directors and charity coordinators of Mercy Trucks work on a voluntary basis, therefore no personnel costs are incurred by the charity, allowing 100% of money donated to go for the intended purpose.
